Top 5 Connecticut + New York Venues

Thanksgiving weekend has me nostalgic for a chilly Connecticut weekend. I am lucky enough to be from one of the most beautiful parts of the county with some of the most breathtaking venues. Here is my list of top 5-Star New York/Connecticut venues:

Blue Hill at Stone Barns

Tarrytown, NY

Blue Hill at Stone Barns is like rolling up to a chic fairytale cottage that is impossibly historic and modernized at the same time. It combines the highest of the most high end, with non pretentious farm- to - table. The culinary program has two Michelin stars, and the reception room is built with stone walls, outfitted with Restoration Hardware type chandeliers and finishes. This venue is not for the budget conscious, but for those who value fine dining and a quaint countryside experience.

Glenmere Mansion

Chester, NY

This Relais & Chateaux property was built in 1911 and over the years has been home to New York City’s prominent families, artists and industrialists. The house was built to mirror a Tuscan manor, sitting atop rolling hills among expansive gardens and overlooking the lake. The property has a fully outfitted spa, multiple dining options, and sits only 50 miles north of the city. The home itself is unbelievably photogenic with bright colors, though the reception room itself is light and bright and white. Option to tent the lawn is also available.

The Mayflower Inn

Washington, CT

I am really excited about this property, which was recently taken over by the Auberge group. Auberge properties are probably my favorite of all time and are always done right. The hotel is rated number 1 in Connecticut, and is without a doubt a luxury experience. All interiors are designed by famed interior designer, Celerie Kemble, whose signature look is bright and “more is more”. There is a spa, lush gardens, fine dining, and everything you could want in a venue.

The Roundhouse

Beacon, NY

If the Mayflower is colorful and whimsical, the Roundhouse is the opposite, but just as chic. Modern, industrial, and with a commitment to sustainability, the venue uses natural materials and lots of glass windows to make guests feel one with nature. Located in the quaint town of Beacon, NY and situated on top of a picturesque waterfall, the Roundhouse is a stunning space. It was built out of an old mill and has been converted into extremely sleek and modern hotel rooms, restaurants and event space.

Delamar

Greenwich, CT

The Delamar is the crown jewel of Greenwich in terms of accommodation and venue. The hotel is located right on the harbor with over 500 feet of dockage. We can arrange cocktail hour on the water, even a grand boat entrance. The event space is bright, with a European, South of France feel, and can accommodate up to 200 guests. Also on property is a spa and fine dining.
