Oscar de la Renta Fall 2022

Ever since I saw Oscar de la Renta designer Laura Kim’s dress at the 2021 Met Gala, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. I had a sneakkkking suspicion we might see it in this next collection and sure enough, it’s now a standout piece of the Fall 2022 collection.

I had the pleasure of meeting the Oscar de la Renta creative directors Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim at WWD’s Style Dimension event a few years ago, and they were as down to earth as they were chic. They bring a very fresh perspective to the brand, and this collection is a clear reflection. It’s fun, of the moment, and smart. Kim and Garcia are reading the room and understand what the modern bride wants. The short dresses feel appropriate for a more backyard type of celebration, but are still a MOMENT and feel hand crafted and special. They also stay true to their roots with larger than life gowns and feminine, figure hugging looks that feel fresh, for a well rounded collection. See here for all the looks.
